The 12 Disciples of Jesus: Their Journeys and Fates
Jesus Christ came to this world to save humanity and imparted many teachings. The fact that Christianity has spread globally today is largely due to these 12 disciples dedicating their lives to spreading the Gospel.

1. Peter: The Rock of the Roman Church

Death: Martyred by crucifixion, upside down, in Rome around AD 64. He is believed to have been martyred during Nero's persecution.
2. Andrew: Pioneer of the Eastern Church

Death: Martyred by crucifixion on an X-shaped cross in Patras, Greece, around AD 60-70.
3. James the Great: The First Martyred Apostle

Death: Martyred by sword by Herod Agrippa I in AD 44. He was the first of the 12 Apostles to be martyred.
4. John: The Apostle of Love, the Only Disciple to Die a Natural Death

Death: Around AD 98, he was exiled to Patmos and later died in Ephesus. Legend says he survived being boiled in oil, and he is known as the only one of the 12 Apostles to die a natural death.

8. Matthew: The Tax Collector and Gospel Writer

Death: Martyred by sword in Ethiopia around AD 60-70.
9. James the Less: Pillar of the Jerusalem Church

Death: Martyred in Jerusalem around AD 62, by being thrown from the pinnacle of the Temple and then beaten to death with a club. He is believed to be one of Jesus' brothers.

Death: AD 30-33, committed suicide after betraying Jesus.
