Birth Rate
It is a well-known fact that Korea is a country with an extremely low birth rate. People in Korea are hesitated to have children due to housing prices, employment, and education system. I wonder what are the birth rates of India and China; these two countries are big in the world? They are sure naturally be higher than Korea, and also African countries will probably also be among the top in birth rates.

Why India has the highest baby birth.
1. Large Population Base
India is the most populous country in the world, with over 1.4 billion people. A large population naturally results in a higher number of births, even if the birth rate declines over time.
2. Higher Fertility Rate Compared to Developed Nations
While India’s fertility rate has decreased significantly over the years, it remains higher than that of many developed nations. As of recent data, India's fertility rate is around 2.0 children per woman, whereas countries like Japan and South Korea have rates below 1.0.
3. Cultural and Social Factors
Preference for Larger Families: In many parts of India, especially in rural areas, having more children is seen as a social and economic advantage.
Son Preference: Some families continue to have more children in hopes of having a male heir, despite changing attitudes and government initiatives.
Religious and Traditional Beliefs: Certain religious and cultural values encourage larger families.
4. Early Marriages and Long Reproductive Span
In some regions, girls marry at a younger age compared to Western countries. This increases the reproductive window, leading to more children over a lifetime. Though India has laws against child marriage, enforcement is still a challenge in some rural areas.
5. Improved Healthcare and Reduced Infant Mortality
Better healthcare facilities have significantly reduced infant mortality rates, leading to more babies surviving to adulthood. This increases overall birth numbers despite declining fertility rates.
6. Economic and Educational Divide
Rural vs. Urban Divide: Birth rates remain higher in rural areas where education levels are lower, and family planning is less common.
Access to Contraception: While awareness is increasing, access to and use of contraception is still lower in certain areas, leading to more unintended pregnancies.
My Thoughts
As expected, India is a populous country! India has the most births! 60,000 people are born in India every day... Most African countries are in the top ranks. The number of births per hour in Korea is about 26... Is Korea is going to fail? I hope government takes good care of economy and provide more benefit to young Korean People.
